Grass cutting

Long Ashton Parish Council is responsible for grass cutting at:

  • Pear Tree Avenue/Chancellor's Park [Residential]
  • Kings Croft [Residential]
  • Theynes Croft car park
  • Birdwell Rec
  • All Saints Churchyard & Burial Ground

As part of its Biodiversity Duty, in 2023 LAPC asked its gardening contractor to stop using weedkiller (and to stop using strimmers in Chancellor's Park in order to protect wooden playground equipment). Some areas of grass are left unmown. From 2024 LAPC will participate in No Mow May.

Grass cutting in other areas (shown on this interactive map) is the responsibility of North Somerset Council. If you would like to raise an issue about grass cutting in the areas managed by North Somerset Council, please make a report here.

Some NSC areas are also being left unmown, in collaboration with local residents, as part of a Local Nature Recovery Plan which the LANCE Trust is involved with coordinating.
